Bia

The Akan god of forests, wildlife, and uncultivated land, brother of Tano. According to legend Bia was passed over by their father Nyame in favour of his sibling, who received the more fertile region; Bia was given the dense forests as compensation. Hunters invoke him before entering the bush, and trees considered sacred in Akan country are often associated with his domain.
