The Yoruba Orisha of the Ogun river and patron of women, motherhood, and children. Yemoja is considered the mother of all Orishas and is associated with fertility, healing, and the protection of pregnant women. In the diaspora her domain expanded from the river to the sea, and she became one of the most widely venerated deities of the African Atlantic.
