Anyanwu

Igbo (Nigeria) · West Africa
The Igbo solar deity, the eye of Chukwu and the source of light, warmth, and the visible day. Anyanwu is invoked at sunrise and is associated with truth, since nothing can be hidden from his gaze. He is often paired with Agbala, the divine wisdom, and the rising sun in Igbo iconography represents both his daily renewal and the unbroken witness of justice across generations.
