The Igbo god of death who strikes at night. Ogbunabali is said to enter homes silently to claim those whose time has come, and his name literally means he who kills at night. He is invoked in cases of mysterious nocturnal death, and his cult historically functioned as an enforcer of moral order, taking the lives of those who broke serious taboos.
