The Yoruba Orisha of thunder, lightning, fire, and royal justice. Originally a historical king of the Oyo Empire, Sango was deified after death and remains one of the most venerated figures in the Yoruba pantheon. He wields a double-headed axe and is closely associated with male virility, sovereignty, and the swift retribution of wrongdoing. His wives Oya, Osun, and Oba each preside over major rivers.
