Ogou

Haitian Vodou; Yoruba origin as Ogun · Diaspora
The warrior-loa of iron, war, and the forge, descended from the Yoruba Ogun. Ogou is invoked for courage, victory in conflict, and the strength to push through obstacles. His emblem is the machete or sword, and his colour is red. In Haitian history he is closely tied to the Bois Caïman ceremony of 1791 that ignited the Haitian Revolution, making him a loa of liberation as well as combat.
