Akonadi

Ga (Ghana) · West Africa
A major goddess of the Ga people of southern Ghana, associated with healing, protection, and the wellbeing of women and children. The Akonadi shrine in Accra was historically one of the most consulted oracles in Ghana, drawing supplicants from across the Akan and Ga regions. Priestesses (woyei) serve her shrines and are said to be possessed by her during ceremonies.
