The Buganda personification of death and brother of Nambi, wife of Kintu. According to the myth, Walumbe followed his sister to earth despite Kintu's warning, and once arrived he could not be sent back. Death has remained with humanity ever since. He is said to dwell in the underworld at Tanda, where pits in the ground are believed to lead down to his realm.
