Southern Africa (Xhosa, Zulu, Pondo traditions) · Southern Africa
A supernatural bird said to summon storms and lightning with the flap of its wings. It often serves witches or shamans, feeding on blood like a vampire. The Impundulu is associated with destructive power but also with fertility and rain, depending on how it is invoked.
